Intended Audience
Unemployed and underemployed jobseekers enrolled in Passage Home Boost program.
Boost your employment outlook – develop skills through Wake Tech’s partnership with Passage Home. You’ll assess your current knowledge, skills, and abilities and develop a plan to address barriers to employment. This course helps you build a positive self-concept while improving your communication and problem-solving skills. You’ll become more aware of the technology needed to build a successful career and of the many employment opportunities available.
Course Objectives
  1. have identified and developed a plan to overcome barriers to employment.
  2. have honed interview skills through roleplay and mock interviews.
  3. have developed a plan to increase wages by improving understanding of economic choices.
  4. have improved communication skills through classroom discussion, roleplay, and presentations.
  5. have explored technology needed to obtain and maintain employment by using the computer to build resumes, search for work, and apply for positions.
