RALEIGH, N.C. (August 29, 2023) – Wake Tech students have another "go-to" spot for wraparound support services. The Care Center at the Scott Northern Wake Campus opened its doors Tuesday.
The Care Center offers a variety of services, including Student Success Coaches, emergency aid, Wellness Services, technology and transportation assistance, Student Money Management and The Nest Food Pantry. The Care Center also provides support for Fostering Bright Futures, Wake Tech's unique program to help former foster youth succeed, and Pathways Success Scholars, part of the state's Minority Male Success Initiative.
"Everyone needs help from time to time," said Scarlet Edwards, associate vice president of Military, Veteran and Special Programs. "We have many services and supports available to help students at Wake Tech, and we are excited that the Care Center can be the place on campus for students to receive the help and support they need."
"Wake Tech uniquely cares about students – that is the Wake Tech way," said President Dr. Scott Ralls. "Our Care Centers help the college rally around our students and help them stay on track to achieve their educational and career goals."
Wake Tech has four Care Center locations:
- Scott Northern Wake Campus – Building B, Suite 137
- Southern Wake Campus – Building L, Suite 128
- RTP Campus – Building 1, Suite 244
- Perry Health Sciences Campus – Building A, Suite 157
Virtual appointments are also available.
Care Center ambassador Amarachi Ekwegh encouraged her classmates to take advantage of the services that are available. "The Care Center is a place that will support us on our academic journey. If we need help with anything, the staff is here to help us."
All new Wake Tech students are automatically assigned a Student Success Coach to help them navigate Wake Tech processes, academic challenges and personal needs. Current students who haven't been assigned a coach may request one by emailing [email protected].
