The Early Childhood Education Non-Licensure AAS Degree prepares students to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a bachelor's degree.
The curriculum provides students with a solid foundation in early childhood education to work in careers such as special education/early intervention, child life specialist, parent educator, child care consultant and many more.
Students gain both theoretical and practical knowledge in areas such as child development, child guidance, health and safety, nutrition and family engagement. This knowledge is reinforced through direct experience with young children in real-world settings under the supervision of qualified teachers.
The Program Planning Guide outlines the courses required for the degree.
Graduates are well-prepared to continue their education at a four-year institution to obtain a bachelor’s degree. Wake Tech maintains partnerships with many colleges and universities across North Carolina, ensuring a seamless transfer process for students.
