All Wake Tech campuses will remain closed Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Students taking in-person classes should check with their instructors for more information. Online classes will continue as scheduled. Many Wake Tech services, including Admissions and Academic Advising, are available virtually at virtualsupport.waketech.edu. Wake Tech employees who can work remotely should do so.
Wake Tech developed and implemented a strategic plan focused on helping students complete credentials, transfer and move on to jobs with labor market value in a timely manner. By reviewing extensive research and data on what helps students achieve their goals, Wake Tech officials learned that the college needs to remain focused on equitable access and economic mobility. Using that information, they formulated detailed strategies to help more students complete credentials, transfer to universities, attain bachelor's degrees and find jobs with living wages.
The Reach and Rally Strategic Plan 1.0 converged on what is most important to Wake Tech. Using the action ideas informed by students and created by departments and divisions, administrators drafted and implemented a 2021-25 strategic plan that empowered every employee to reach out and rally around students to fulfill the college's mission and vision.
In 2025, the college community engaged in another strategic planning process that will culminate in a Reach and Rally 2.0 plan to continue to build on the strategies and successes achieved in Reach and Rally 1.0.
