SEF-3001N7 HVAC and Duct Leakage: Proper Evaluation and Sealing

This hands-on course provides a thorough understanding of air handling systems and the associated building envelope components, as well as how to measure existing efficiency and how to identify and implement improvement strategies. The course prepares students for the BPI Infiltration and Duct Leakage Certification exam. It covers the use of the blower door and duct tester, equipment set-up, basic building science, heat transfer modes, and common leakage sources in typical homes. Manometer configurations and mathematical calculations for checking for code compliance are included. On completion students will be able to set up equipment for diagnostic testing and interpret the data. The classroom and labs feature state-of-the-art technology and offer hands-on training with leading industry brands. Students receive a certificate of attendance. NOTE: The BPI Infiltration and Duct Leakage Certification exam is not included in this course, nor is this course required by BPI; however, students who complete this training typically perform better on BPI exams.
