The mission of Information Technology Services at Wake Technical Community College is to support Student Learning, Faculty Teaching and College Operations through the use of Information Technology.

Focus Question - How may I work remotely?
Staff and faculty can submit a workorder to obtain software needed to work remotely. ITS will provide you with VPN client software that virtually connects you to the Wake Tech network. The VPN client must be running in order to access Datatel. When installed on your home PC, the Datatel client allows you the same interface you use at work. The GroupWise client software is also available and provides you the same access as on your work PC.
IT Equipment Maintenance Window
Every morning from 3:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. Blackboard is down for maintenance while we do backups and other necessary tasks. In addition, we must maintain other systems, such as the Telephone, Voicemail, core routing functions, and more. Starting January of 2009, ITS will perform extended maintenance on IT equipment 1 day per month during the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. While every effort will be made to make services available as quickly as possible, IT-related services may not be available until 8:00 a.m. on these additional maintenance days.
