Wake Tech's Economic Impact
From its operations to the construction of new facilities to the activities of its students and alumni, Wake Tech promotes economic growth and has a positive impact on the community. In 2021, national research firm EMSI/Burning Glass conducted an in-depth analysis and found that the college has an annual impact of $1 billion on the local economy.
Following are some of the many findings from the analysis:
- Wake Tech graduates earn $9,800 more per year than Wake County residents who have only a high school diploma.
- For every dollar students invest in a Wake Tech education, they receive a cumulative value of $3.20 in higher future earnings.
- For every dollar invested in Wake Tech, the community receives $7 in added income and social savings.
