The Carolina Student Transfer Excellence Program (C-STEP) provides a pathway for Wake Tech students working toward an Associate in Arts (AA) or Associate in Science (AS) degree to transfer to and graduate from UNC-Chapel Hill.

Through C-STEP, students eligible to receive federal financial aid are guaranteed admission to UNC-Chapel Hill, where they can complete their four-year degrees after successfully completing their work at Wake Tech.

C-STEP gives students access to special events, advising and transition and support services at both Wake Tech and UNC-Chapel Hill. Students will be academically prepared and fully engaged in their college and university communities, setting them on a positive path to success.

Students must meet the following criteria to apply to C-STEP:

  • A cumulative GPA of at least 3.2
  • No more than halfway toward an AA or AS degree, including the current enrollment term
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident (applicants must be eligible to receive federal financial aid)

Early College students taking courses through Wake Tech are not eligible for C-STEP.
