The Pathways Success Scholars Peer Mentor program connects new minority male Career & College Promise students with experienced mentors. The Wake Tech students serving as mentors understand the challenges of college life and can provide guidance, share their wisdom and experiences and support students through their college journey.
The peer mentors draw from their own experiences as students and guide others, increasing the sense of belonging and community at Wake Tech. They provide a variety of support, including study skills, time management, connection and resources.

Why I want to be a Peer Mentor: I believe in the power of support and guidance in helping others achieve their full potential. Throughout my own career struggles and academic journey, I've benefited greatly from my own failures, and I'm passionate about giving back. As a peer mentor, I aim to help students navigate their challenges, stay motivated and make the most of their opportunities at Wake Tech.

Why I want to be a peer mentor: As a first-generation Mexican-American Latina, I'm inspired by the resilience and strength of those who have supported me, and I am determined to pave the way for others who share similar backgrounds and aspirations. Navigating college as the first in my family to pursue higher education has been both challenging and rewarding. Encountering imposter syndrome in academic and professional spaces has been a significant hurdle, but it's also fueled my desire to help others overcome similar challenges. I want every student at Wake Tech to feel heard, seen and supported throughout their journey and into their future endeavors.
