The Minority Male Success Initiative (MMSI) is an effort to enhance the educational success of minority males in the North Carolina Community College System. MMSI seeks to strengthen minority male student outcomes through the following:

  • Promoting student use of campus resources to improve overall academic and social experience on campus
  • Encouraging participation and collaboration among student participants and institutional departments

Wake Tech is one of several community colleges participating in MMSI. Its Pathways Success Scholars program targets and supports minority male high school students taking classes at Wake Tech through the Career & College Promise dual-enrollment program. The program provides the following services:

  • Student Success Coaching
  • Goal-setting and success planning
  • Peer mentoring
  • Collaboration with Wake Tech resources and referrals
  • Student leadership development opportunities

For more information, email [email protected] or connect with the program on social media.
