Pathways Cohort

Student Accountability Teams

Student mentees with Pathways are assigned a student mentor. For this academic year, we have five student mentors on staff. To service the teams, student mentors upon referral request, meet with students via phone, email or in-person, to address the following:

  • General Feel of Class Performance
  • Potential Barriers Present
  • Solutions Discussed/Follow-Up Plan

Pathways Modules

Welcome men!  The mission of Pathways is to increase the academic engagement and success rates for the first time in college Minority Male student at Wake Tech. We plan to offer our services through campus collaborations, partnerships, and initiatives that lead to graduation. Your ability to build and engage yourself in your campus community is essential as you prepare to impact society. Pathways’ goal is to guide students as they equip themselves with the necessary skill sets that pave the way to graduation and professional success.  Our program modules are designed to immerse you into the resources, opportunities and professional growth that is available for students here at Wake Tech.  See the next page for your working module sheet.  As mentioned in the Policies, Pointers and Expectations section of this mini-handbook, you should check off your involvements throughout the 2017-18 academic year, thus keeping track of your progress through the Pathways Program.

The chart below shows the three Pathways module timelines.  The goal is to complete all three of these modules. Be sure to also record short journal entries in your Pathways Booklet after each chosen experience.  Satisfactory completion qualifies you for participation in the Pathways Retreat and Graduation.  Welcome to Pathways!
