The Student Success Initiative (SSI) aims to enhance the educational success of first-generation college students in the North Carolina Community College System. SSI seeks to do the following to strengthen student outcomes:

  • Promote the use of campus resources to improve overall academic and social experience on campus
  • Encourage participation and collaboration among student participants and institutional departments

Wake Tech is one of several community colleges participating in SSI through its Pathways Success Scholars Mentorship Program. The program provides the following services:

  • Student success coaching
  • Goal-setting and success planning
  • Peer mentoring
  • Collaboration with Wake Tech resources and referrals
  • Student leadership development opportunities
