If you're interested in learning how to operate a motorcycle, Wake Tech offers Basic Rider courses developed by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. This course is designed for new riders who have never operated a motorcycle and for re-entry riders who have not ridden in a long time. However, you must be able to ride a bicycle.
This course requires physical skill, such as being able to support a 300-pound motorcycle while straddling it and to push the motorcycle for distances up to 120 feet. Students who experience significant difficulty or become a safety risk to themselves or others will not be permitted to continue the riding activities in the course.
NOTICE: Students are required to view the informational memorandum before attending the Basic Rider Course.

Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of the course students will acquire skills needed for safe motorcycle riding and will receive an MSF endorsement card, which will allow them to waive the NCDMV riding test.
