Program Mission

The mission of the Wake Tech Radiography Program is to provide the healthcare community with competent and professional radiographers, a skilled health care professional who uses radiation to produce images of the human body.

Program Goals

Students will demonstrate competence in skills basic to the Radiography Profession.

  1. Students will properly position.
  2. Students will provide proper patient care.
  3. Students will determine correct exposure factors. 

Students will effectively utilize critical thinking skills.

  1. Students will demonstrate competence in non-routine examinations.
  2. Students will analyze images. 

Students will demonstrate communication skills.

  1. Students will demonstrate oral communication skills.
  2. Students will practice written communication skills. 

Students will demonstrate professionalism.

  1. Students will demonstrate professional behavior.
  2. Students will understand Ethical Standards for the Radiography Profession.

Program Effectiveness Measures

  1. Students will complete the program.
  2. Students will pass the national certification exam on the first attempt.
  3. Graduates will be gainfully employed within twelve (12) months post-graduation.
  4. Graduates of the program will indicate satisfaction with preparation for employment.
  5. Employers will be satisfied with the performance of newly-hired radiology technologists.
