Materials to Submit with your Honors Program Application
Verification that you have submitted the Application for Admission to Wake Tech. Students must apply for admission to the college before applying to the Honors Program.
Your most recent high school, college, or university transcript (submit only if you have completed fewer than 12 credit hours at Wake Tech).
Verification that you have met the GPA requirement for admission to the Honors Program. See Eligibility on the Honors Program home page.
Honors Program application.
Submit two sealed letters of recommendation from college or university instructors or high school teachers. Instructors may EMAIL letters directly to one of the Honors Program Directors (do not mail paper copies). They should address student’s previous and potential academic performance; written, verbal, and critical thinking skills; and commitment to higher education. A list of leadership positions, work or job responsibilities, community service, or other involvement in your community in recent years (as applicable).
An essay of 250-500 words in which you describe how you use critical thinking in your daily life. Be specific and provide concrete examples.
Meet with one of the Honors Program directors for an interview (optional).
