The Cybersecurity Advisory Committee plays a vital role in ensuring that Wake Tech's programs remain aligned with industry needs and best practices. The committee supports Wake Tech's mission of preparing students for cybersecurity and information technology careers by doing the following:
Committee members include professionals representing a range of industries that rely on information technology and cybersecurity expertise – education, government, finance, health care and technology services. They bring diverse perspectives that help strengthen Wake Tech's Cybersecurity programs and ensure the curriculum reflects real-world needs.
Members serve renewable one-year terms and complete a membership form each academic year to confirm their continued participation and commitment to the program. The department continually seeks new members and perspectives to expand representation across emerging sectors and to strengthen collaboration between education and industry.

The committee meets twice per academic year – once each during the Fall and Spring semesters – to review program updates and plans, discuss industry developments and advise on program improvements and strategic goals. Recorded sessions are available in the Cybersecurity Department's Advisory Committee Teams site for members unable to attend. Minutes are recorded for each meeting and shared with all members.
