Foundation Board of Directors Adds Five Members
RALEIGH, N.C. (June 4, 2026) – The Wake Tech Foundation has appointed five distinguished business and community leaders to its Board of Directors.
Charles Britt, Hadley Callaway, Aaron Godby, Terrell Midgett and Haniya Mir bring diverse expertise and a shared commitment to advancing Wake Tech's mission and supporting student success.
"Each of these new board members brings exceptional expertise and a deep commitment to our community," said Matt Smith, vice president of development and strategic partnerships at Wake Tech. "Their leadership will strengthen our ability to expand opportunities for students and support the college's continued growth."
- Britt is a tax partner at RSM US LLP and has been a Wake County resident for more than 20 years. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting from North Carolina State University and a law degree from Wake Forest University. Britt brings expertise in tax strategy, compliance and governance.
- Callaway is a recently retired orthopedic sports medicine surgeon with a 31-year career in clinical practice. He served as head team physician for the Carolina Hurricanes and the U.S. Men’s National Hockey Team and has held board roles across multiple healthcare organizations. Callaway brings leadership experience in healthcare operations, finance and policy.
- Godby is founder and chief executive of Green Irony, a consulting firm that helps organizations, including colleges and universities, put artificial intelligence to practical use. A former IBM engineer and Master Inventor, he holds a bachelor's degree in computer engineering and a Master of Business Administration from Virginia Tech. Godby brings experience helping institutions modernize technology and prepare students and staff for an AI-driven economy.
- Midgett leads one of the largest African American–owned, full-service general trade maintenance firms in North Carolina. He brings extensive experience in operations, workforce development, business leadership and community engagement. Midgett is also a real estate developer focused on expanding affordable housing and revitalizing underserved communities. He serves on the board of directors of the Velle Cares Foundation and is a strong advocate for vitiligo awareness and education.
- Mir is a transactional attorney at Brooks Pierce, where she advises businesses on a range of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracting and corporate governance. She serves as outside general counsel to the Dorothea Dix Park Conservancy and is a member of the board of directors of United Way of the Greater Triangle. Mir brings experience in legal strategy and organizational governance.
The newly appointed board members will help guide the Foundation's efforts to expand student opportunities, strengthen workforce partnerships and support the college's long-term growth.
The leadership team of the Foundation's Board of Directors includes Chair Will Smith and Chair-Elect Tomesah Harrison. Other Executive Committee members include Marshall Stein (treasurer) and Dr. Scott Ralls (secretary). Smith is the Foundation's executive director.
