College to Host Virtual Open House

RALEIGH, N.C. (October 5, 2020) - Get acquainted with all Wake Tech has to offer during the college’s first Virtual Open House.

Wake Tech’s Open House is a great opportunity for high school students, parents, guidance counselors, adult learners, and the unemployed to learn more about the college’s wide array of degree programs, academic resources, and support services.

Wake Tech is offering virtual presentations on three separate dates and times so participants can select one or more options that fit their schedule. Each open house includes break-out sessions on programs, and opportunities for live Q & A. Anyone interested should register at openhouse.waketech.edu to reserve a spot.

  • Monday, Oct. 19, 2-4 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 21, 6-8 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 24, 10 a.m. - noon

During the two-hour session, prospective students will have the opportunity to:

  • Hear from Wake Tech President Dr. Scott Ralls
  • Get an overview of university transfer and career and technical programs
  • Learn about the admissions process
  • Listen to a financial aid overview
  • Hear student testimonials about their Wake Tech experience

Each session will include time at the end for live chat with academic program representatives and admissions specialists.

“The pandemic has impacted our ability to host in-person events on campus, such as open house, so we are excited to bring all Wake Tech has to offer to prospective students in a virtual setting,” said Brian Gann, Vice President of Enrollment and Student Services. “Even though we are getting acquainted in a different format, we want students to know we are here and ready to help them start their future at Wake Tech.”

Wake Tech also offers Virtual Information Sessions for prospective students. These sessions are a great way to ask admissions questions, learn about student life, and explore careers.

Meanwhile, Wake Tech is planning a virtual Workforce Continuing Education Open House on Thursday, Nov. 5 for prospective students to learn more about the college’s non-degree, short-term training programs.

Information on all these opportunities to visit Wake Tech virtually can be found at visit.waketech.edu.
