Dr. Scott Honored with Thad Eure Jr. Memorial Award
RALEIGH, N.C. (August 16, 2018) - The Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau presented its most prestigious award to retiring Wake Technical Community College president Dr. Stephen Scott at its annual luncheon on Thursday, August 16. The Thad Eure, Jr. Memorial Award honors an individual who has made a significant contribution to the Wake County hospitality industry during the past year.
Dr. Scott received the honor because of his dedication to student success, the city of Raleigh, and citizens of Wake County. With a career spanning more than 40 years, Dr. Scott has been at the helm of Wake Tech since October 2003. Under his leadership, Wake Tech has become the largest of North Carolina’s 58 community colleges, now serving more than 74,000 students (the equivalent of one in 10 Wake County adults).
