Wake Tech Director Named Dean
Carol Cutler-White to Reach Out to Federal Agencies, Officials
RALEIGH, N.C. (July 26, 2010) - Wake Technical Community College president Stephen Scott is pleased to announce that Carol Cutler-White has been named Dean of Sponsored Programs and Federal Relations. Cutler-White has served as Director of Sponsored Programs, Grants and Articulation at Wake Tech since 2007. In announcing her promotion, Dr. Scott noted her capable leadership across the college in garnering federal and state grant funding.
In her capacity as Director, external grant and sponsored programs funding increased from 2.7% to nearly 8% of college revenue. Cutler-White led Wake Tech's efforts in securing federal appropriations funding for the 2010 and 2011 federal budget years, securing over $1.1 million in federal funds for the College.
In her new role as Dean, Cutler-White will focus on developing relationships with federal agencies and expanding relationships with federal House and Senate representatives to position Wake Tech as a leader in sponsored programs. She will also assist with strategic planning for new grant-funded programs, and act as Director of the SunTrust Center for Strategic Futures.

"Increased demands on the college are evident at every campus, and it's important that we are well-positioned to assist people obtaining practical and marketable educational credentials that can improve their lives."
Before joining Wake Tech in 2007, Cutler-White was Regional Programs Manager at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center. From 2002-2006, she was employed at North Carolina State University where she managed grant operations for the Center for Integrated Fungal Research. While at NC State, Cutler-White also created and directed the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences' Summer College in Biotechnology and Life Sciences. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Vermont and a Master's degree from NC State. She is currently a doctoral student at NC State in Adult and Community College Education.
