Lenovo Announces Support for Wake Tech Fundraising Initiative
RALEIGH, N.C. (December 10, 2012)- Global technology giant Lenovo has announced its support for Wake Tech’s largest-ever fundraising initiative, a major gifts campaign called “The Ripple Effect.” The campaign is a response to record-breaking enrollment at Wake Tech and increased demand for the education and training programs the college offers. Lenovo, the second largest PC manufacturer in the world, with global headquarters in Morrisville, has pledged $168,000 to the Ripple Effect campaign over the next two years.
“Lenovo’s generous support will have a tremendous impact,” says Wake Tech President Dr. Stephen Scott, “improving both teaching and learning at Wake Tech and helping faculty and students advance along with the newest technologies.”
Lenovo’s commitment to Wake Tech includes both financial and in-kind contributions. The gifts will provide professional development for faculty and staff, scholarships for students, and technology hardware support that will benefit all members of the academic community.
“Lenovo is thrilled to support the Wake Tech Foundation’s Ripple Effect program. Our company and employees are committed to increasing access to education, particularly through innovation and technology,” said Tom Looney, Vice-President, and General Manager Lenovo North America. “We support the Foundation’s mission to provide the right resources to all who seek to advance their education.”
The Ripple Effect Campaign supports scholarships and mentoring initiatives for students, faculty and staff innovation, and technology to provide the most up-to-date training. Investors may make gifts in the form of cash, securities, personal property, and planned gifts of many types.
