Wake Tech Honors Veterans

RALEIGH, N.C. (November 8, 2013) - Special ceremonies honoring military veterans took place today on Wake Tech’s Main and Northern Wake campuses. Students, faculty, staff, and veterans attended the events, which included speeches and a moment of silence as well as ceremonial presentations and refreshments.

Army Major Cameron L. Albert, keynote speaker at the tribute on Main Campus, expressed gratitude to all service members and their families. “Thank you for your sacrifices,” he said. “We are grateful for all you have contributed in service of our nation.”

Today’s ceremonies were part of a series of events on Wake Tech’s Main and Northern Wake campuses to honor veterans and connect them with a variety of support services. Earlier events included a “Veterans’ Summit” in September, which addressed issues of concern to veterans and included focus groups aimed at improving VA services; and an employment workshop and job fair in October.
