Saraya Klink Named Volleyball Player of The Year

RALEIGH, N.C. (November 7, 2014) - Wake Tech student athlete Saraya Klink has been recognized as Player of the Year in women’s volleyball by the National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA), Division 2 Region X. Klink, star middle hitter for the Wake Tech Eagles women’s volleyball team, has also been selected Second Team All-American by the NJCAA – a first for the team! She finished the season with a .344 hitting percentage, compiling 432 kills, 44 services aces, 132 digs and 111 blocks, 75 of which were solos. Klink is a freshman at Wake Tech, a graduate of Fuquay-Varina High School.
“Saraya is a game changer!” says Coach Stephanie Sports. “I’m thrilled she was chosen for this recognition – it is well deserved!” Coach Sports was also recognized with top honors. She was selected Volleyball Coach of the Year for Division 2 Region X.
The Eagles finished the season with the best record in their history: 31-5 overall and 12-4 in conference play. The team beat Louisburg College today in the first round of the Division 2 Region X Tournament, hosted by Cape Fear Community College. The final score was 3 sets to 1.
