RALEIGH, N.C. (April 18, 2015) - Wake Tech celebrated art today at the third annual Early Childhood Creative Arts Event on Main Campus. Parents and children gathered to enjoy easel painting, hat-making, wall art, kite-making, fort building, storytelling, and other creative activities designed to highlight the importance of art. Families also listened to live music and participated in sustainable art activities using recycled materials from The Scrap Exchangein Durham.
The Creative Arts Event, sponsored by PNC, took place in Wake Tech’s Early Childhood Education Building. The college offers degree, diploma, and certificate programs in early childhood education and is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
The goal of the event is to promote art education in early childhood, engaging families and the community in creative activity and raising awareness about alternative art materials that are accessible, affordable, and environmentally responsible.
