RALEIGH, N.C. (April 30, 2015) - Wake Tech students showed “signs” of success this week! Students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) who have been accepted to four-year colleges and universities signed their names to posters bearing their schools’ logos. Two “signing” parties took place: at Main Campus on Tuesday, April 28, and at Northern Wake Campus on Thursday, April 30.
More than 20 four-year colleges and universities, including NC State, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, University of Texas at Austin, Meredith College, Appalachian State, ECU, UNC, UNC Asheville, and Campbell were represented on the posters. Several students have been accepted to more than one school – Matt Roberts signed his name to four posters! Students at the signing parties also enjoyed snacks, chatted with instructors, and shared future plans.
The signing parties are a way for Wake Tech to congratulate students for their academic achievement – and their continuing pursuit of higher education. Wake Tech’s College/University Transfer program provides students with a solid foundation for continuing their studies at four-year colleges and universities. The college also supports students in STEM studies with speakers, tutoring services, academic and career advising, and study/resource centers. Careers in STEM fields are among the most lucrative and fastest-growing careers.
