RALEIGH, N.C. (October 7, 2015) - Wake Technical Community College and HQ Raleigh today announce an exciting new partnership, thanks to funds from the Wake Tech/Wells Fargo Center for Entrepreneurship. The college and the entrepreneurial workspace, located in Raleigh’s Warehouse District, will partner to bring workforce continuing education and entrepreneurial programming to the thriving downtown area. Wake Tech will also host additional events at HQ Raleigh highlighting special programs.
“This partnership is clearly a win-win,” says Dr. Stephen Scott, president of Wake Tech, “and an important one. Wake Tech constantly seeks new avenues for encouraging and supporting innovative thinking and entrepreneurship – and our entire region benefits.”
The partnership is a key step in better connecting the community college system with the entrepreneurial community in Wake County and vice versa, and will play an important role in HQ Raleigh’s larger mission of supporting minority and underserved groups of entrepreneurs.
“Engaging higher education institutions is a major strength of our entrepreneurial community, so we look forward to bridging the gap between downtown and the Wake Tech campus network. That, and connecting our 130+ member companies to Wake Tech’s resources and new and diverse perspectives, skills, and talent,” says HQ Raleigh Executive Director, Jason Widen.
