Intermediate Microsoft Excel 365



This intermediate Excel course is designed for professionals with foundational skills who want to elevate their data management and presentation capabilities. You learn to organize complex datasets using multi-column sorting, custom filters and dynamic functions such as Sort, Sortby and Filter. The course covers a range of chart types, from bar and line to histograms and sunbursts, along with tools like Sparklines and Trendlines to visualize trends. You also master working with dates, times and text. The course applies mathematical and logical functions for problem-solving and explores Excel's various optimization tools.

Additional topics covered include enhancing worksheet appearance with images and formatting, secure collaboration through workbook protection and customizing Excel's interface with ribbons and add-ins. Lastly, the practical exercises throughout the course ensure that you build efficient, professional spreadsheets that get the job done.

A basic understanding of Microsoft Excel uses and functions or completion of Introduction to Microsoft Excel is required.

Learning Supplies Needed

Hardware requirements:
This course can be taken on either a PC or a Mac. Chromebooks are not compatible.

Software requirements:
PC: Windows 10 or later
Mac: macOS 12 or later
Browser: The latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox is preferred. Microsoft Edge and Safari are also compatible.
Microsoft Excel 365 for Windows or Microsoft Excel for Mac. Excel 365 Online can be used when studying the features it includes, but students will not be able to practice certain skills. For the best experience, students should use Excel 365 for Windows or Excel for Mac to complete this course. If that software isn't available, some exercises can be completed using Excel 365 Online in a web browser on Windows, MacOS or ChromeOS.

Software must be installed and fully operational before the course begins.
