Wake Tech Capital Meeting: Valuation Workshop

Wake Tech Capital's second September meeting will show students how the technical skills we teach are applied in real life.

The session begins with an overview of our simulated long-only investment fund, including the responsibilities of sector heads and analysts and the process for evaluating and placing trades. Members then participate in a valuation workshop introducing the core methodologies used to assess companies, which directly connect to our fund's strategy.

To close, we will host virtual guest speaker Daniel Martin, a senior at North Carolina A&T State University who recently completed his investment banking internship at Lazard and secured a full-time offer. He will share how he prepared for one of the most competitive recruiting processes in finance, what his internship experience was like and how the same valuation techniques he used at Lazard mirror the skills we are building inside Wake Tech Capital.
