SIPROTEC 5 Busbar Protection

This training will help students to gain knowledge on Siemens' Low Impedance Busbar protection system. The course will cover these topics: Introduction to Busbar Relays, Understanding Algorithms for Breaker Failure and End Fault Protection, Configuration and Troubleshooting f Busbar Relays, and Distributed Busbar Relay Configuration using IEC-61850 Process Bus and CU.

Course Objectives

1. Differentiate between various types of busbar relay arrangements and their associated algorithms.
2. Explain the main algorithms used for Breaker Failure and End Fault Protection schemes.
3. Configure busbar relays.
4. Test and validate the entire busbar protection system using secondary testing equipment like Omicron.
5. Implement innovative process bus and CU-based distributed busbar protection systems.
