Service Learning Peer Study Groups

Leading a study group for one of your courses not only increases your involvement and performance in that course, it also can help you stand out on your transfer applications.

Through the Service Learning Program, you can receive official notation on your college transcript for having completed Service Learning-designated course(s) by doing the following:

  • Lead or co-lead a weekly study group in a course you are currently taking or an approved prerequisite course for at least 10 hours during the semester. Study groups can meet in an Academic Success Center, campus library or virtually.
  • Complete a reflection providing specific examples of how group discussions related to your own learning of course objectives. The reflection can be journal entries, a paper, a video or a PowerPoint presentation.
