Wake Tech resumes normal operations on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. Campuses reopen at 8 a.m., and most classes are held as scheduled.
Building H on Scott Northern Wake Campus is without power and will remain closed until power is restored. Students with classes in Building H should check with their instructors for more information.
Maintenance of facilities has become one of the most important aspects of construction. More technology is incorporated into buildings so they are more efficient and can keep up with tenant demands. Plus, the variety of equipment required in these structures needs personnel trained to troubleshoot and deal with any problem.
Facility Maintenance Technology is a multi-trades program that combines the fundamentals of HVAC, electrical and plumbing to provide students with a core set of skills needed to maintain and troubleshoot problems in various systems within a high-occupancy residential or commercial facility.
With the addition of building automation to the curriculum, students work with the latest technologies, where their training will develop skills desirable for the current building industry upon graduation.
