Wake Tech is closed December 24 through January 4 for winter break and will reopen January 5. Prospective students can still apply for enrollment online during the break, and continuing students can register for Spring semester classes, which start January 7.
Core course work for each diploma program includes the theory of operations, troubleshooting techniques and repair procedures for engines, transmissions, fuel, electronics, electrical and hydraulics systems. Other related courses, along with a few general education courses, are also required.
Graduates should qualify for entry-level employment opportunities at businesses that repair heavy equipment. Advancement levels depend on the training completed, knowledge and ability levels, work performance and ethics.
