Advanced PLC Programming Certificate

NOTE: This program has been terminated and isn't accepting new students. Faculty advisors will work with current students to complete the certificate by August 2027.

The Advanced PLC Programming Certificate provides the student with enhanced technical skills and knowledge necessary to work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs).

Students entering the program are expected to have a basic knowledge of PLC ladder logic and PLC wiring.

The program emphasizes programming techniques, networking, specialty I/O modules, system troubleshooting and the integration of PLCs with various SCADA and DCS software packages.

Upon completion, students should be able to specify, implement and maintain complex PLC-controlled systems.
