Associate in Arts

The Associate in Arts (AA) degree is designed for students who want to pursue a four-year degree in liberal arts, business or education disciplines. Courses emphasize verbal and written communication and critical-thinking skills.

The program of study meets the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement, making it easy to transfer credits to any University of North Carolina System school.

Students must earn a minimum of 60 to 61 semester hours to graduate with the AA degree. The degree program includes two components:

• A minimum of 30 semester hours of designated University General Education Transfer courses
• Remaining required coursework from approved general education, elective and pre-major courses
