MED-3300FCS Medical Assisting and Transcription Editor Profession Part 1

In partnership with CareerStep, Wake Tech offers this course as part one of a two-part program preparing students for careers in medical transcription and editing. Medical transcription is primarily a work-from-home occupation; most healthcare providers outsource the work to national companies that employ transcriptionists, who work online. This program is approved by the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI) and includes documentation, biomedical sciences, editing theory, and more. Students receive a transcription foot pedal and access to an online reference library. Upon completion, students will have access to job placement assistance through CareerStep. Course content may also help students prepare for the medical assistant exam.
