This course is designed to prepare advanced-level non-native English speakers to determine the purpose of their written and oral presentations and to write and present paragraphs and essays to fulfill that purpose as required in college-level courses. Emphasis is placed on unity, coherence, completeness, audience, and strategies of effective oral and written expression, as well as the grammatical forms for each kind of writing. Upon completion, students should be able to write unified, coherent, and complete paragraphs, essays, and oral presentations which are grammatically accurate and appropriate for the intended audience.
