This 2-hour continuing education course provides healthcare professionals with a foundational understanding of dental terminology used in clinical, administrative, and interdisciplinary settings. Participants will explore key terms related to oral anatomy, dental procedures, diagnostic codes, and dental specialties. Designed for dental assistants, hygienists, office staff, and other healthcare team members, this course aims to improve communication, documentation accuracy, and collaboration within the dental care environment.

Course Objectives

Define common dental terms related to oral anatomy, procedures, and disease conditions.


Describe the structure and function of major oral and dental anatomical features using correct terminology.

Use appropriate dental vocabulary in case scenarios involving patient communication and documentation.

Differentiate between general and specialty-specific dental terms and explain their contextual use
