This program bundles five topics: GitHub, a culture of agility, HTML, CSS and JavaScript. By the end of the course, students should know how to use GitHub for version control and collaboration, contribute to an organization's culture of success using Agile and identify programming features and capabilities to write, debug and maintain well-structured HTML and CSS code. Students build on these skills by using JavaScript code for supported data types and write simple code. Additionally, students should be prepared to pass each Certiport IT Specialist exam for HTML and CSS and JavaScript.

Course Objectives

GitHub: Explore GitHub, use the command line and create a project

Culture of Agility: Discuss why culture matters; recognize building trust; determine how to articulate your mission, vision and values; describe methods to combat stress and silos; explain ways to build your team; discuss tips for supporting success; and identify strategies to encourage effective communication

HTML and CSS: Introduction to HTML and CSS; identify common HTML5 and CSS3 features; integrate animation, media and custom themes; demonstrate a basic ability to customize and maintain CSS; design a simple website; and diagnose and resolve style and structural problems

JavaScript: Introduction; program with JavaScript operators, methods and keywords; program with variables, data types and functions; demonstrate a basic ability to customize and maintain CSS; interact with the Document Object Model; and interact with HTML forms

Prior to course enrollment, students should be able to demonstrate technological literacy in alignment with the Technology Basics for Digital Literacy course.
