Carpentry Apprenticeship Level 2

This course introduces new topics for apprentices working in carpentry and prepares students for additional responsibilities as carpenters on new construction sites and on remodeling and renovation projects. Carpentry Apprenticeship Level 2 is the second course in the NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) curriculum for Carpentry Apprenticeship.

Course Objectives

learn new skills required of a Second Year Carpentry Apprentice. Students will learn new skills related to commercial drawings, cold-formed steel framing, exterior finishing, thermal and moisture protection, roofing applications, doors and door hardware, drywall installation, drywall finishing, suspended ceilings, window, door, floor and ceiling trim, and cabinet installation.

Students who successfully complete the requirements for this course will be eligible to receive certification from the National Center for Construction Education and Research and will receive credit for completion of the second year of App Trng.

Introduction to the Construction Trades (which includes the NCCER Core Curriculum) and Carpentry Apprenticeship Level 1

Text and Supplies Needed

Carpentry Level Two Trainee Guide, published by NCCER in partnership with Pearson.

Clinical Site/Special Facilities

Carpentry Lab for teaching hands on activities.
