General Admission Procedures

  • If you graduated from a US high school within the last 10 yrs., you will be admitted and placed in classes based on your unweighted GPA, or other admission placement criteria.
  • If you graduated high school more than 10 years ago, you need to determine additional steps.

Steps for Admissions

Step 1. Research Career Options Find your Career Path with self-assessments, resources, job outlooks, salary ranges, and education requirements. Explore Academic Programs of Study

Step 2. Complete the NC Residency Determination Interview NC Residency Determination Details

Step 3. Submit an online application to be a Wake Tech Student Visit a campus Admissions Office if you need assistance (select Campus > Campus Resources for locations, hours, and contact info).

Step 4. Submit Official Transcript(s) Due to COVID-19 there may be a significant delay in retrieving and processing transcripts sent through postal mail.  It is preferred that transcripts are sent electronically to ensure receipt and faster processing.
Request official transcript(s) from high school, or high school equivalency, and previous college(s). Ask that transcripts be forwarded to [email protected] or mailed to:

Note: If you already have a college degree, you do not need to submit high school transcripts unless you are a Health Sciences Applicant. Health Sciences requires all high school and college transcripts.

Step 7. Meet with an Advisor Once you’ve completed Steps 1-6 above, meet with an Advisor.

Step 8. Attend New Student Orientation
