Clinical

Clinical practicum is an unpaid supervised, hands-on experience in which students are placed at a clinical site – a physician’s office or other ambulatory health care setting – during their last semester (Diploma program). A site supervisor, assigned by the physician or office manager, serves as the student’s preceptor at the site. Clinical sites are located in the Wake, Durham and Johnston County area and are selected to afford a variety of learning experiences. The practicum experience is unpaid, and any expenses incurred (fees for parking or the use of public transportation, etc.) are the responsibility of the student. Students may not refuse a practicum assignment. Clinical sites have included:
