The program provides an overview into the theories, practices, and scope of the fire prevention function, including the study of fire cause determination, fire protection law, model fire codes, life safety, public education, fire protection systems, employee supervision and expository writing. Upon completion, certificate holders may qualify for supervisory or entry-level management positions in fire prevention, training, or fire suppression. Upon completion certificate holders may qualify for supervisory or entry-level management positions in fire suppression, fire prevention, or training.
