Free AI Series Coming to RTP Campus
RALEIGH, N.C. (September 25, 2026) – Wake Tech Community College is hosting a four-part community series this fall to help people better understand artificial intelligence and its growing impact on daily life, careers, business and the environment.
The AI for Everyone series will explore how AI is influencing everyday life, work, entrepreneurship and the world around us. Designed for beginners and experienced users alike, the sessions will provide practical, accessible information and real-world examples to help participants better understand the opportunities and challenges of emerging AI technologies.
Sessions will be held at Wake Tech's RTP Campus, located at 10908 Chapel Hill Road in Morrisville, with select sessions also available virtually to make participation more convenient for community members across the region.
"Artificial intelligence is becoming a part of how we work, learn and interact every day," said Cindy Luttrell, Dean of Information Technology at Wake Tech. “Through this series, Wake Tech is helping our community better understand AI and how to use it responsibly, safely and effectively."
No technical background or previous AI experience is required. Each session is free and open to the public, though advance registration is encouraged.
AI for Everyday Life
October 8 | 3 to 4:30 p.m.
In person at Wake Tech's RTP Campus or virtual
Learn how AI can make everyday tasks easier while gaining practical tips for using AI tools effectively and responsibly. Participants will explore topics including AI basics, productivity tools, privacy and security, AI-generated misinformation, ethics and responsible use. Attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop or smartphone for the interactive session.
AI for Work & Career
October 27 | 10:30 a.m. to noon
Virtual
Explore how AI is transforming the workplace and learn practical strategies for career growth. The session will cover topics such as job searching, resume development, interview preparation, professional branding, workforce trends and the skills employers increasingly value in an AI-influenced economy.
AI, Energy & the Environment
November 2 | 3 to 4:30 p.m.
In person at Wake Tech's RTP Campus
This community discussion will examine the infrastructure that powers AI, including data centers, energy use and water consumption. Participants will learn about environmental considerations connected to AI and explore multiple perspectives on the opportunities and challenges that accompany continued technological growth.
AI for Small Business & Entrepreneurs
November 17 | 6 to 7:30 p.m.
In person at Wake Tech's RTP Campus
The final event in the series will focus on how entrepreneurs and small businesses can use AI to improve productivity, spark innovation and strengthen customer engagement. Attendees will learn practical ways to incorporate AI tools into everyday business operations while considering responsible and effective use.
The series offers opportunities to learn from experts, explore real-world applications of AI and engage in meaningful conversations about the opportunities and challenges AI presents across daily life, work, business and the broader community.
