College Hosts Pop-Up Vaccine Event

RALEIGH, N.C. (September 2, 2021) – Wake Tech students, student athletes, employees, and community members rolled up their sleeves and got their COVID-19 vaccination Wednesday during a pop-up clinic at the college’s Beltline Education Center.

In all, 54 people got their shot at the collaborative event in which the college teamed up with Activate Good, Wake County, Raleigh-Apex NAACP, Raleigh Village East, and Deiter Mediation.

Those who got vaccinated left with $10 cash and five individuals won a pair of AirPods.

The event also raised awareness about local employment opportunities. Attendees perused a job board that listed job openings in retail, hospitality, health care, food service, construction, manufacturing and other fields.

The event is one of several pop-up clinics Wake Tech is planning this semester.
