Students Win National Honors
Phi Beta Lambda Students Bring Home Five Awards
RALEIGH, N.C. (August 3, 2021) - Wake Tech students took home top honors during Phi Beta Lambda’s National Leadership Conference held June 24-27. The event was held virtually this year.
Phi Beta Lambda is the national student organization for business and leadership.
Wake Tech students won five national awards:
- Abby Saucedo placed first in Impromptu Speaking.
- Trevis McCullough placed second in Future Business Educator and ninth in Future Business Executive.
- Ben Saucedo placed third in Emerging Business Issues.
- Briana Mendez-Sandoval placed eighth in Hospitality Management.
Five Wake Tech students qualified to compete at the National Leadership Conference by winning at the statewide Phi Beta Lambda competition held this spring. They were among 300 students who showcased their leadership skills in competitive events against universities and colleges from across the United States.
Marny Rhodes is advisor of PBL at Wake Tech and serves as the Communications Director for the North Carolina PBL chapter.
