Fall Open House Packs the House

RALEIGH, N.C. (October 19, 2019) - Hundreds of prospective students converged on Wake Tech’s Southern Wake Campus today for the college’s Fall Open House. The event is an opportunity for local high school students and their parents, as well as professionals seeking career advancement, to explore Wake Tech programs and get a feel for campus life.

More than 25% of WCPSS high school graduates make Wake Tech their first stop on their higher education journey. About half enroll in the University Transfer program, while others pursue technical degrees to prepare for immediate employment. The college offers more than 200 programs and serves more online students than any North Carolina community college.

In addition to learning about programs of study, visitors got a chance to tour the campus, including the culinary arts kitchen, computer labs, and the bookstore. They also learned about services and resources, and clubs and activities, including Wake Tech sports. Wake Tech has nine sports teams and competes in Region 10, Division 2 of the NJCAA.

Wake Tech has a two-step process for enrolling: 1) complete the NC Residency Determination; 2) complete the online application. To learn more, visit apply.waketech.edu.
