Wake Tech’s early voting sites are among 15 planned for Wake County, where the popularity of early voting has exploded. In 2008, more than 251,000 people – 57% of those who voted – did so early, compared to 91,000 in 2004. Early voters are encouraged to “really” cast their ballots early. “Don’t wait until the last day or two of early voting,” says Nicole Shumaker, Elections Specialist for the Wake County Board of Elections. “That’s when lines are the longest!” For more information, visit http://www.wakevotesearly.com.
