Wake Tech to Provide More Customized Training Options for Businesses

RALEIGH, N.C. (October 25, 2012) – Wake County companies now have a powerful resource for keeping employees’ skills sharp and up to date. Wake Tech’s Corporate Solutions is a newly-created college division that provides state-of-the-art training, customized to meet the specific needs of corporate clients. Customized training is more effective and efficient; offering companies a greater return on their investment in continuing education for employees. 
  
“Corporate Solutions can provide training options that are virtually limitless since they are designed by the client – working with our staff – to produce individualized, measureable results,” explains Wake Tech President Dr. Stephen C. Scott. “Training can be delivered in person, in self-paced modules, or online; it can range from professional development to highly-technical skill building.”

The new division is led by Jamie Glass, Associate Vice President of Corporate Solutions. A veteran of the community college system, Glass brings 17 years of experience in continuing education to Wake Tech. She has a bachelor’s degree from Methodist University and a master’s from Webster University. She started her community college career at Wake Tech and has held positions at the NC Community College System and Durham Technical Community College.  

Other staff include Kelly King, Program Manager, a graduate of North Carolina State University and member of the Golden Key International Honour Society; Lisa Wilson, Business Development Coordinator, a graduate of East Carolina University with more than 20 years of experience in business; and Lillian Heaton, Technical Assistant, a graduate of Pfeiffer University.
 
Wake Tech’s Corporate Solutions supplements the college’s Business and Industry Services division, which offers customized training for new and expanding businesses that qualify for state-funded training.
