RALEIGH, N.C. (February 13, 2013) - Students in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) programs have a new place to learn on Wake Tech’s Northern Wake Campus! College leaders opened Wake Tech’s second STEM Center today, in Building D, to promote student success by offering a place for studying, sharing ideas, collaborating on projects, and learning from experts in the field. The center is open Monday through Friday and staffed by faculty members who volunteer to assist students.
“We’re extremely excited to be able to open a second STEM Center here,” says Dr. Cheryl Keeton, Dean of Mathematics and Sciences. “We know that STEM fields hold unlimited prospects for these students – that’s where the jobs will be when they graduate! The center provides a collaborative environment that fosters innovative thinking and helps students prepare for the challenges of further STEM study and career exploration.”
The Northern Wake STEM Center is located in Room 360 of Building D. Wake Tech’s first STEM Center, on Main Campus, is located in LE 212.
