RALEIGH, N.C. (October 31, 2013) - Wake Tech hosted about 100 Wake County high school students on Thursday, October 31, as they toured technical programs that will be offered in the new Career and Technical High School in South Raleigh. Students got a first-hand look at programs such as Cosmetology, Biopharmaceutical Technology, Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning, Welding, and Simulation and Game Development. They also visited information sessions on Nursing Assistant, Auto Collision Repair and Geographic Information Systems. This was the third group of students to visit the college. Nearly 500 students toured Wake Tech over the past two weeks.
When the new school opens next fall, Wake Tech will teach the technical courses which are designed to prepare students for the workforce. Students who graduate from the school will earn a high school diploma along with professional certificates and college credit toward a degree in one of the programs. Wake Tech will offer continuing education classes for adults at the school at nights and on weekends. For more information, visit http://ctehs.wcpss.net/.
