Students Win National Honors
RALEIGH, N.C. (July 3, 2014) - Wake Tech students took home top honors after an excellent showing at Phi Beta Lambda’s National Leadership Conference competition, held June 24-27 in Nashville, Tennessee. Phi Beta Lambda is the national student academic organization for business and leadership.
Wake Tech students won four awards:
- River Norris placed first in the nation in Entrepreneurship Concepts and seventh in Marketing Analysis and Design.
- La’Kia Young earned fifth place in Client Services.
- Evan Friedman placed ninth in Impromptu Speaking.
Four Wake Tech students competed in the nationals after winning at the statewide Phi Beta Lambda competition, held in April in Charlotte. They were among1,700 students who showcased their leadership skills in competitive events against universities and colleges from across the United States.
Walter Martin, Dean of Business & Public Services Technologies, was honored as the Outstanding Local Advisor of the Year for North Carolina.
